a new 3-cylinder 1.2 liter DIG Supercharger Engine, with an aim to become the lowest fuel consumption engine in the world among the gasoline powered cars. The new engine offers power output equivalent to that of 1.5 engines and carbon dioxide (CO2) emission of 95 grams per kilometer.
The newly developed HR12DDR engine will be mounted on the new Micra also known as March in the European market sometimes in first half of 2011. The high performance and low fuel consumption levels are at a result of adoption of the miller cycle, gasoline direct injection system (DIG) as well as a highly efficient supercharger in conjunction with an Idling Stop system.
